To my brothers and sisters in Christ, if you have wandered off and feeling lost and confused, don’t take the path of destruction (Matthew 7:13). Maybe today you’re feeling distant from Him and I encourage you to continue running the race and keep your focus on Him. This is when He does His work by preparing for something bigger for you. Often times we can be so impatient when we ask God for something. So, we try to get ahead of God and that’s when we run into troubles. Don’t get swayed easily by the world and the world has a way to distract us from God. Our enemy has a way to plant a sinful thought in our head and build on it and then exaggerate on it. Then we begin to make rational statements that are not really true. Satan the father of lies will blow the situation and expand the degree that’s not even true and that is how he plays with our mind.
The battle is in the mind and we’re caught up in spiritual battles and our enemies are taking it personal. Satan’s goal is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). He will tempt us with bait that looks very pleasing. However, the bait is wrapped around in a hook. As we gravitate to the bait and allow ourselves to be entertained by its appearance; our earthly appetite will increase rapidly. As we continue allowing this temptation to entertain us, we put ourselves in a situation where it’s hard to resist! The moment we take the bite, Satan will pull and yank his pole and puncture our soul with his rusty hook. Then he pulls us towards him and reel us in. He can overtake us with only our strength and says to us “Gotcha!” Satan and his demons know us fairly well and observed our weaknesses the moment we were born. He uses our sinful DNA to his advantage (Psalm 51:5). He stalks us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. He prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). If we try to fight Satan in our own strength, he’ll destroy us. We cannot fight the battle alone and we need God to fight it for us. If you get yourself into a situation of doubting or falling into temptations, here are the two key things that we must do:
On Ephesians 6:10-12, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
