Life can be empty, lonely, and uneventful and you may have no one to turn to. Life can be unknowing and you're seeking fulfillment to ignite your life. Or maybe in life you shut everyone down because you have your reasons. Life can be hurtful and even at times feel hopeless. People may have hurt you, you’re fighting for your marriage, you may have a relationship problem, you lost a love one, or you're going through pain and struggles in life because of health issues. Whatever it is that you're going through, life is taking its toll.
So any of these may lead you to say...
The world will tell us the remedies to resolve these issues that we go through in life. However, it's not quite what we need because the world's solution is only temporary. Often times we look and chase the fulfillment to fill that void in our heart, but just to find out at the end of each trail is empty and lonely. On John 14:27 Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). You may have tried to do things in your own strength, your ways, and your will and you keep running into dead ends. However, God wants you to be still and know that HE IS GOD! Maybe your boat is caught up in a storm that’s in the middle of the sea while the boat rocks back and forth and getting filled with water and you fear the outcome. With Jesus Christ in our life! He will calm the storms completely by saying "Peace, be still” and sometimes He rides them with us. Life is monotonous and you do the same thing over and over. Or it can be a roller coaster and it's busy busy busy and you have no time for something new because you're just too busy in life!!! Maybe you’ve been riding on the roller coaster too long and you just want peace. You may be here still reading this post because you are hurt and your world is crumbling down. Without Christ, you will continue to have that void in your heart and find neither peace nor fulfillment. Perhaps you're too prideful and say that you can do life without God. Don't be prideful because in the end, it's always empty. Jesus promised us and said, “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14) Here’s a quote from Dr. Tony Evans in regards of trials, dependency and spiritual growth, “God allows trials in our life to show our dependency on Him. Trials are like hot iron and the heat is designed to use to iron-out the spiritual wrinkles in our life; therefore, we become mature in Christ.” Proverbs 4:18 says, the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. “If you walk with the Lord and embrace the precepts of His Word, although there is no promise that your path will become easier, it will be brighter as you move along.” –Jon Courson
